Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg invites you to the festival "Music From Suomi 2007"!

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Finland, the Finnish Cultural Institute in St. Petersburg has initiated a yearlong festival of Finnish music! You are kindly invited to participate in this yearlong birthday party. The concerts and other events are organized from February to December in palaces, concert halls, jazz and rock clubs.

The diversity of the program presents the many faces of the Finnish music scene: classical, rap, folk, dance, jazz, rock, tango etc. There is program for children and families, and during the summer there will be special events organized outdoors. Also the cities of Helsinki and Turku participate in the jubilee year by organizing their own days in St.Petersburg.

The festival year offers you a chance to hear something new, surprising, sometimes even weird, but always impressing.

The festival was launched this February with the concert "Kantele - tradition of experimentation", presenting young Finnish electrokantele musicians. You can find information on other past
and future concerts in the "events" section of this site.
